Welcome guys to my preview of the Champions league round of 16 playoff between SL Benfica of portugal and Zenit St. Petersburg of russia
The first match will take place on February 15th @ zenit in the Stadion Petrovski in St petersburg russia. The second game will be @ benfica in the Estadio da luz in lisbon portugal.

Now for some facts.
In the UEFA ranking Benfica is ranked at 13th and Zenit is ranked at 19th. Benfica have already won 2 Champion’s League titles while Zenit have won none. Benfica won Group C with 12 of possible 18 points with 3 wins, 3 draws, and no losses. Zenit came in second place behind Apoel in Group G although they tied in points they had a goal difference of -2 while Apoel had a 0 goal difference. Zenit had 9 of a possible 18 points with 2 wins, 3 draws, and 1 loss.

Onto Leading Goalscorers, Benfica’s Oscar Cardozo leads the team with 3 goals in 5 matches, with Bruno Cesar coming in close behind with 2 goals in 6 matches. Zenit’s Roman Shirokov has 3 goals of 6 matches, and they also have 4 other players who have scored 1 goal each including the portuguese player Danny. In Assists, Benfica’s Nico Gaitan has 5 which leads the tournament, while Zenit only have 1 assist which came from Kerzhakov.

Now onto cards, Benfica’s Emerson has 1 Red Card, and Pablo Aimar has 2 yellows. For Zenit, Bruno Alves of Portugal has 3 yellow cards which ties him in 3rd place in the tournament and 1 Red Card which ties him for 1st in the tournament, The cards are important because this can usually show who the more aggresive players are and who is most likely to commit hard fouls that will give them cards in future games.

It is my opinion that Benfica will win this Round Of 16 playoff, they definetly have the better team and if Zenit dont win their first game at home in Russia then it will be over before it started because portuguese teams are infamously hard to beat on their home field.
