Manchester United beat Benfica 2-0 in the Champions League. Scott McTominay impressed for Mourinho’s men and Angel Gomes did the same against Benfica Under-19 after returning from India after winning the Under-17 World Cup with England.
Manchester United took all three points against Benfica with a solid 2-0 win. In eventful game, United had the first chance to go ahead after a fine dribble from Anthony Martial resulting in a penalty. Martial got back to his feet and took the resulting spot kick, but it was saved by Mile Svilar. The Red Devils opened the scoring after 18 year old goalkeeper turned a Nemanja Matic shot into his own goal. Marcus Rashford was then introduced on 75 minutes, two minutes later he won a penalty which Daley Blind converted.
Mourinho and Manchester United sit top of their Champions League group and only need a single point to win the group and void Barcelona and PSG in the last 16.
